Believing His Promises

In our reading from our Depending on God journal in Genesis 15, the Lord told Abram “Do not be afraid. I am your shield, your very great reward.” Then he promised him a son and as many offspring as the stars in the heavens. Verse 6 reads, ‘Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness’. As we begin a new semester of C.A.R.E. Network support groups, my prayer is that you will believe God’s promises and pass the good news on to those who seek healing, help and hope.
Some of those promises that have become essential in my life are as follows: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6; "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13 and "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
I hope that each of us will take to heart the promises that we have been given by God.
